Murrells Inlet is a seaside town in Georgetown County, South Carolina, just a few miles south of Myrtle Beach, with a population of 8,547 at the 2010 census. The town was once primarily a fishing village, but has grown substantially, along with the rest of the "Grand Strand" in Myrtle Beach, into a popular tourist and retirement location.

With an average age of 53, and a variety of housing choices,  Murrells Inlet is becoming a popular retirement town.  Zillow reports the median home value was $216,000 in early 2018.  Home prices vary of course according to location.  There are many active adult communities in Murrell's Inlet ( see link on top right).

Th average January temperature is about 48 degrees. The average July temperature is 83 degrees. Murrells Inlet is a nature lovers paradise with fresh water rivers, inlets and salt marshes.  The community prides itself on working to maintain the infrastructure and preservation of the environment.

This area is seafood heaven with many restaurants getting rave reviews from Interesting places to visit nearby are Brookgreen Gardens, the largest outdoor sculpture garden in the world,  and Huntington Beach State Park, which offers hiking trails, campsites and a nature center, along with a beautiful beach.  If it's bright lights and neon you're looking for, Myrtle Beach is just a few miles away.

The Myrtle Beach International Airport is about 15 miles away, and Amtrak is just 12 miles away in Florence.
