Weslaco has several restaurants, and parks.  Estero Llano Grande State Park in Weslaco attracts an array of wildlife with its varied landscape of shallow lake, woodlands and thorn forest where nature lovers will enjoy exploring this 230 plus-acre refuge; the Frontera Audubon Center features 15 acres that attracts bird and butterfly enthusiasts from across the United States and world; the Weslaco museum presents art exhibits and programs. Many events and festivals are held throughout the year including Alfresco Weslaco! is held on the third Thursday of every month, featuring live music, art displays, sidewalk sales and all kinds of delicious food,  Texas Onion Fest! an event celebrating Weslaco's development of the sweet Texas Onion.

 Weslaco’s Tower Theater, a historical landmark created from a 1928 water storage tank that seats 100 people and offers performances in July and December.  Or you can catch a performance of the International Theatre of Texas at Braught Memorial Theater

The Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council provides public transportation through the Valley Metro bus system.
