Hoover is a good place to settle post retirement because of it being a quiet city offering quality lifestyle to its citizens. The city has seen exponential growth ever since the opening of Riverchase Galleria shopping complex in 1986. Hoover offers various facilities like a public safety center, library and municipal center to its residents just like any big city. Great shopping complexes, nice residential complexes, good business community and best schools encourage many Americans to make Hoover their home. Hoover’s planned communities and residential places are located near the foothills of Appalachian Mountains.
There are several active adult communities and many other neighborhoods and developments in Hoover. (see links at right).  Homebuyers have different options to select from. The NAR reports the median home sale price in the Birmingham/Hoover area to be $254,300 during the 1st quarter of 2021.

What Is Special about Hoover

Hoover is home to the Riverchase Galleria, one of the largest shopping centers in the Southeast;  The Galleria has been a significant catalyst for growth;  the city now provides services from many large city facilities including a Municipal Center, a Library, and a Public Safety Center; there are a number of parks including Star Lake Park and Howard Lake Park;  Aldridge Gardens are a local attraction.

There are at least 3 hospitals in nearby Birmingham.

2 interstates run through town, I 459 and I 65. Amtrak stops in Birmingham. Hoover is about average in walkability when compared to other communities.
