Acapulco offers many types of housing including single family homes, villas and condos and many timeshares.  As expected, the location and proximity to the beach will dictate prices.

What Is Special about Acapulco

Acapuco has beautiful beaches, tropical climate and is a resort city. The Mercado Central (Central Market) is an amazing place, selling just about everything. The sights and smells are out of this world.

What Is Not Special about Acapulco

 Acapulco does have a high crime rate, and is full of tourists, especially during the spring break season.

Climate and Physical Environment

Acapulco has a tropical climate with distinct wet and dry seasons and even temperatures between the seasons.  The average January temperature is 80 degrees with the average July temperature not much different at 83 degrees.  Tropical storms and hurricanes are a threat from May through November.

Restaurants & Cultural Scene

Acapulco is a resort city and is known for it’s night life. It does have historical museums and places of interest, the most historic being San Diego Fort built in 1616, to protect the city from pirate attacks.  Acapulco hosts several festivals throughout the year.  Tripadvisor.com suggests the best fine dining options can be found along the city’s eastern shore of theAcapulco Bay, known as Carretera Escenica, or the Scenic Highway.

Crime

Acapulco’s crime rate has improved somewhat since 2011, as the city cracked down on drugs and gang wars.  Today, most crime is theft and travelers are advised to stay in the “tourist zone”, as there are neighborhoods that are considered dangerous.

Juan N. Alvarez International Airport services Acapulco;  The city does have a good, but complex bus system; walking around Acapulco is not a good idea.
