Where to Retire in Eufaula and Home Prices

Eufaula is a beautiful place to retire. Most active adults who move here live in a restored historic house.
Housing tends to be inexpensive. Alabama's tax structure is very favorable to retirees, who are being courted by the state. Property taxes on a $200,000 will  be less than $2000 per year. There are  also some homestead exemptions and other tax breaks for seniors. Eufaual is so small that reliable housing prices are hard to find, but prices will vary by neighborhood and type of house.  Zillow.com reported the median home value was $126,497 in mid-2021.
