What BOOM is like

BOOM is a $250 million community in Rancho Mirage near Palm Springs that is planned for a 2012 groundbreaking. The high-design project was originally aimed toward LGBT senior citizens, but is now being designed for everyone, straight or gay, young or old. Amenities include a boutique hotel, a health spa and wellness center. From their Facebook page: "BOOM combines ten renowned architects joined together by a vision to build a new icon of design that dares to redefine home, community and how we live and grow together." Appears that community was never developed.
