Living a Golf Lifestyle in Park City, Utah

Park City, Utah is primarily thought of as a ski town, but golf in season is plenty popular. Glenwild, Park Meadowns, and the Park City Golf Course are just some of your choices. Or you can go to posh Deer Valley nearby. Park City is a former mining town located in Utah’s Wasatch Mountains. The annual Sundance Film Festival is held here. World class restaurants and shops in reclaimed buildings from the mining era attract shoppers. The Winter Olympics were held here in 2002. It is a scene of great beauty and outdoor pursuits of every description. Park City is at an elevation of 6980’. Salt Lake City, along with other famous ski resorts such as Alta and Snowbird, are just a short drive away.

Prices have been quite expensive because there is a limited supply of privately available land. However as a community where many of the homes are second homes, it has softened a great deal. There are some new developments outside of town. Zillow reported the median home value in Park City was $1,477,576, in early 2022. Almost all homes have spectacular views of the mountains. Living in the village of Park City is convenient because everything is in walking distance. Condos in nearby Dear Valley are very expensive, and trailside log homes typically cost in the multi-millions.

As a high-end resort you can expect and find world class restaurants in Park City, all conveniently located in the walkable downtown.  Its culture is built around its proximity to nature and outdoor sports, and the world famous Sundance Film Festival of independent films. As such it makes for an interesting retirement community.

The crime rate in Park City is lower than in Utah in general.

Salt Lake City International Airport is just 34 miles away. As an important hub, SLC offers non-stop flights to almost anywhere. Door to door transportation from the airport to destinations in the area is remarkably easy. Local bus service is also strong.
