What Is Special about Hudson

A large area of the village is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. There more than one thousand acres of parkland in the city. Hudson Springs Park has a lake, a walking trail, a disc golf course, and docks. Cascade Park, Barlow Farm Park, and Colony Park are large neighborhood parks used for sports and general family recreation. The downtown shopping area in the Historic District is still actively in use. The Underground Railroad went through here, in fact John Brown spent his childhood in Hudson. Lincoln Ellsworth, a polar explorer, and also the only Hudsonite ever featured on a U.S. postage stamp.

Climate and Physical Environment

The average Jan temp is in the mid 20s, and the average July temp is 70.  Hudson is in northeastern Ohio between Akron and Cleveland.

The downtown retail areas have several restaurants. The Western Reserve Academy, a coeducational boarding and day college preparatory school housed on the original campus of Western Reserve College.
