Climate and Physical Environment

Located on Idaho's western border in the southern part of the state. It is close to Idaho's mountains - Sun Valley is about 3 hours away. The elevation in Meridian is 2600'. Climate is dry in summer. The majority of Meridian lies on a flat plain, roughly in the north central part of Treasure Valley. The Boise River runs north of the city and the Snake River runs far south of the city. Squaw Butte is visible to the north at 5,873 feet.

Restaurants & Cultural Scene

Boise has a number of cultural attractions. The University of Phoenix, Boise State University, and several small colleges are nearby.

Crime

Crime occurs at about half the rate of the U.S. average.

Medical Facilities

Treasure Valley Hospital and Boise VA Medical Center are located here.

Boise's airport is about 14 miles away.
