Summers are very hot with averages temperatures in July over 90 degrees. Rio Verde is a suburb of Scottsday about 30 minutes from a city. In early 2023 it made news when Rio Verde Foothills had its water supply cut off from neighboring Scottsdale, which said it needed the water for its own residents. Water now has to be imported into the development and is getting expensive.
