Biking town on the coast

My husband and I are looking for a bike-friendly coastal town, on the ocean or gulf so that my husband can commute by bike. He has low vision and cannot drive a car. Would like to bike to stores etc. need bike paths etc. Prefer North or South Carolina or Florida. Any ideas? Thank you.

Some towns on the southern North Carolina beach might be good. There isnt that much traffic (out of season anyway). Other places the roads arent that great for bikers. Beaufort NC would be nice though.

biking on the coast is really great - except in certain parts of the country like Oregon where the roads are too narrow
