Living a Cultural Center Lifestyle in Houston, Texas

Houston is a cultural powerhouse - its museum district alone attracts over 7 million visitors a year. The downtown Houston Theater District hosts nine major performing arts organizations and six performance halls. As the largest city in the largest contiguous state, Houston does a good job of living up that challenge.  For starters, its population is over 2.3 million and the city ranges over an area of almost 600 square miles.

It is named after former President of the Rebublic of Texas, General Sam Houston. The city is home to a very large number of Fortune 500 corporations, many of them energy related, as well as being one of the busiest ports in the U.S. As the home of the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center, Houston has been dubbed the "Space City."
