Civil War buffs love Gettysburg with the many historical sites and buildings, museums, tours, and shops, but the ethnically diverse town also offers beautiful scenery with farmlands, parks and trails. Gettysburg is also home to a variety of artists, musicians, historians and colleges.

The summer tourist season, and property taxes are higher here than in some other Pennsylvania counties.

Gettysburg has a regional airport, with the nearest international airport in Harrisburg about 50 miles away, or the Baltimore/Washington D.C. International Airport about 60 miles away.
