Living a College Town Lifestyle in Dover, Delaware

36,000 residents make their home in this college community. Dover is the capital of Delaware and its second largest city. The city grew 12% from 2000 to 2008.  It is home to 2 colleges (Delaware State University, a historically black college; as well as Wesley College). It is also home to a handful of other satellite campuses. Dover Air Force Base is  also located here and a major employer.

The former Dover Opera House has recently been converted into a center for the arts. The Delaware state museum is also located here.

Dover is near the middle of Delaware, not too far from the Chesapeake.  The average daily high in July is 87 degrees and the average January low is 27. August tends to be the rainiest month with almost 5" of precip.

Transportation
