Red Feather Lakes is a very small resort town in north central Colorado. Tourists come here to enjoy its14 lakes for fishing and boating. Other attractions include amazing outdoor activities like horseback riding, fishing, hiking, biking, off-road vehicle roads, and hunting. In wintertime Red Feather Lakes attracts cross-country skiers, snowmobilers, snowshoers and ice-fishing enthusiasts.There is an abundance of wildflowers and wildlife: elk, antelope, moose, mule deer, bear, quail, grouse, mountain lions, bighorn sheep and wild turkey. It is located about 50 miles northwest of Fort Collins. This town of just under 600 people is surrounded by the Roosevelt National Forest and near the Poudre Valley.
