Real Estate Values
It is hard to be accurate about median home prices in a town like Hertford because the area combines high-end waterfront active adult communities with low-end housing by some of the lower income locals. City-Data, for example, reports the median home price to be about $500,000 in 2010, although the median household income in the area is only $24,000. The high prices probably reflect high-end properties in the local active adult community, Albemarle Plantation.
