Coconut Creek is called the Butterfly Capital of the World.  The world's largest butterfly aviary, Butterfly World, with over 80 species and 5,000 individual butterflies, is located in Coconut Creek.

There is urban sprawl and a fair amount of traffic. Summers are hot and humid.

January's average temperature is about 62 degrees and July's average is about 85 degrees.

Coconut Creek is home to Butterfly World, the largest butterfly house in the U.S.  The town also has 18 parks and green spaces, a large shopping and dining complex, and is home to the Seminole Casino.

Northwest Regional Hospital is located in nearby Margate.

There is an Amtrak station about 5 miles away in Deerfield Beach.  The nearest airport is in Fort Laurderdale, about 20 miles from Coconut Creek.
