Living a Boating Lifestyle in Kissimmee, Florida

Boating on Lake Tohopekaliga is one of the top things to do in Kissimmee, a fast growing town south of Orlando in central Florida. You can rent a boat here, or take advantage of one of its special attractions, an air boat ride! The town grew 30% between 2000 and 2008.  This popular tourist area promises small-town charm  as well as  theme parks, outdoor adventures, challenging golf, and tranquil beach landscapes. The town's Osceola Heritage Park is an event facility featuring a concert arena (Silver Spurs Arena) and professional sports stadium (Osceolo County Stadium).

There are many developments to live in, but most cater more to younger families. There are also plenty of active adult communities, including one of the nation's largest, Solvita (see Active Communities link at top left).

Kissimmee is south of Orlando in central Florida. It is on the the northwest shore of Lake Tohopekaliga (locally called Lake Toho). The average July high temperature is 92 and the average January high is 72 (the average low is 48). The wettest month is August (7").
