Living a Boating Lifestyle in Carrabelle, Florida

Carrabelle is a wonderful town for boating and fishing in the Gulf Coast of the Florida panhandle.  The town has some pretty harbors with many fishing and pleasure boats. From here one can cruise the Gulf or visit nearby islands like St. Vincent or St. George. The population is about 1300.  This is a less crowded part of Florida with a mild climate, outstanding recreation opportunities, and slower pace.

Carrabelle is located in the panhandle of Florida (northwest) near East Point.

Restaurants & Cultural Scene

The local seafood, especially oysters, are very good and available in the town's seafood restaurants.  Carrabelle has a nice library.

The crime rate is well below average in Carrabelle.

George Weems Memorial Hospital is 27 miles away in Apalachicola.

Transportation

Tallahassee Regional Airport is 43 miles away.  This airport has great service through Delta and is extremely convenient, if not inexpensive. Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport is also in the area and features discount carrier SouthWest Airlines.
